theBlu: Deep Rescue is a breathtaking, immersive entertainment experience that transports friends and families to the depths of the ocean, placing them in the driver’s seat on an interactive journey that comes face-to-face with the largest creatures on the planet.
The eight-minute experience plunges groups of six visitors simultaneously on an underwater journey to find Sylvia, a favorite blue whale that has unexpectedly stopped her regular migration pattern. During the expedition, which involves piloting seafaring rovers, participants find themselves immersed in a meticulously detailed marine world filled with true-to-scale sea turtles, seals and hammerhead sharks. After navigating their way through luminescent mysterious caverns the explorers emerge into the open ocean to discover… a blue whale in need of rescue. What will you do to save the baby blue whale?
Powered by Dreamscape’s immersive VR platform with full body avatars, theBlu : Deep Rescue gives participants a sense of freedom and feeling of group presence unmatched by any VR experience. Once participants don their headsets, they are able to roam freely seeing themselves and their fellow travelers in dive suits with the ability to splash water, interact with schooling fish, and ride underwater scooters with friends. An original score by Hans Zimmer’s music company Bleeding Fingers helps create an ambiance that is at once exhilarating and tranquil, fitting the majesty of the gentle giants.
TheBlu : Deep Rescue is the next chapter of Wevr’s multi-award winning and best selling franchise theBlu, which follows the in-home VR experience theBlu: Season1 (available on Rift, Vive, Msft MR). Directed by Jake Rowell (Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, Superman Returns), and executive produced by Neville Spiteri (CEO, Wevr), theBlu : Deep Rescue is an experience designed to unleash the power of VR as a medium to instill a lasting appreciation for the planet’s treasured and endangered oceans.
